Executor

If you are a Windows 7 user, you surely noticed the "Search programs and files" feature in the start menu. This feature is meant to help you quickly and easily launch a file, a program or look for certain information. Unfortunately, this feature is not so easy to use and it's kind of inconvenient for most users. One can turn to a third party application for replacing this Windows feature. Such an application is Executor. The program allows you to quickly and easily look for certain Windows applications and features just by typing a part of its name. This way, you will be able to quickly find any desired information without having to launch Windows Explorer and browse through all the files and folders.

The installation process of Executor completes very fast and the program supports any Windows version, even the old XP. The system resources won't be affected by running the program as it doesn't use any indexing like the Windows default searching utility does.

The interface of Executor is simple and supports various skins. Launching the program for the first time will display a step by step wizard that will guide the user through the process of configuring the program's settings. After doing this, the user will be left with a small window where he can input desired keywords. As one writes the word, the program displays all the found files and folders that are related to that word. Clicking on any of the found files will launch them using their default application.

Clicking anywhere on the screen will make Executor to automatically minimize as a taskbar icon, thus not interfering with the user's work. The software includes a list of often-used keywords, for improving the search speed. More keywords can be easily added by the user.
